Philips AVENT DECT SCD510/00

$105.00 Released October, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Actually does not interfere at all with other devices, as advertised. Consistently clear reception and playback of monitored sounds. Bright LED indicators give visual cues in addition to sounds.

The Cons:Button design is confusing and can lead to inadvertent adjusting of sensitivity rather than volume. Even at highest sensitivity, parent unit's volume is a bit low, especially in louder environments (e.g. watching TV). Battery life winds up being several hours shorter than the 24 advertised.

The Philips AVENT DECT SCD510/00 is an audio baby monitor that guarantees zero interference from other electrical devices within its vicinity. Both convenient and portable, parents can easily carry the Philips AVENT DECT SCD510/00 in and around their house, while still listening in to their baby due to the unit’s whopping 330 m range.

Furthermore, the SCD510/00 offers sound lights to indicate if the baby makes noise (even if the volume is turned off) and in fact allows the parent to increase/decrease the microphone sensitivity as needed. This way, the parent can fine-tune to the sensitivity so that he or she can even hear the baby breathing. The DECT SCD510/00 also offers an audible link indicator that indicates a continuous connection between the transmitter & monitor, two-way sound transmission so that parents can speak to their baby, and a belt clip for hands-free convenience and mobility. The Philips AVENT DECT SCD510/00 retails for $104.99 and comes with a 2 year limited warranty.

PS Yong
PS Yong: #philips_avent_dect_scd510_00 I just bought a unit of this item... even though I increase the sensitivity up to maximum, I can barely hear baby movement or crying unless I am holding it on my hand (not even putting it in your pocket). End up I have to keep checking on the indicator lights every few minutes, to ensure that my baby is still asleep. Jul 11, 09
